Le circuit DCL du Paris Drone Festival dans Liftoff !

Les développeurs de LuGus Studios avait reproduit le tracé des Champs-Elysées dans le simulateur Liftoff pour le Paris Drone Festival. Si les spectateurs de l’événement avaient pu s’y essayer dimanche 4 juin 2017, aujourd’hui ce sont tous les possesseurs du fameux simulateur d’ImmersionRC qui peuvent faire joujou sur cette superbe course de la Drone Champions League (DCL) !

Je n’y ai joué que quelques minutes et c’est vraiment sympa, même si Liftoff n’est pas mon simulateur préféré (je le trouve trop « arcade »). Je trouve juste dommage d’avoir limité le circuit à la volière, il aurait été sympa de pouvoir « diver » l’Arc de triomphe virtuellement…

The original plan was to only let you fly in the cage as was the case on the real event, but the team spend another month of work and an extra €10k on allowing you to fly outside the cage. All of this for a free update. To give you an idea, this small section of the Champs-Élysées you can explore took the team almost 3 months to build, taking up 1/3 of the full development capabilities of the team during that time. We do this with limited development capabilities, and this doesn’t earn us any additional funds, it’s completely free. I would love to build the whole city of Paris, but that’s simply not realistic. For big game studios it would be possible, but they would sell it to you as DLC.

 

It’s human nature to always want to go where you can’t go, and I’m sure when we had allowed you to fly to the Arc we would have people saying it’s a shame we didn’t add the Eiffel Tower. At the of the day this is not an open world exploration game but a race game centered around race tracks. While I understand you would love to fly anywhere, I’m a bit disappointed all our work is wasted on some people because of that. We could have released it as originally​ planned: just the cage. No matter how big we make a level, no matter how much time and work we put into it, people are always disappointed because they want more. I completely understand the disappointment, but the expectations some people have are simply not realistic or possible for a company like us. What we added to the game has been passed to its limits.

 

I still hope you appreciate the fact that we added the Paris Drone Festival and let you fly where the real pilots where not able to fly, all as part of a free update.

C’est vrai que cette mise à jour gratuite est toujours plus sympa qu’un DLC payant 😉
